Dear friends!

On behalf of the Russian Fencing Federation and on my own behalf, I am pleased to welcome all the participants and guests of the European Junior fencing Championships.

Fights of young fencers are always held  in a sharp, vivid, emotional struggle and it makes interesting. And let some athletes have lack of experience and skills - it is easily compensated by a strong desire to win. Today`s youth - tomorrow`s stars in the fencing world, who in the near future will be representing their countries at the World Championships and Olympic Games. That is why the Russian Fencing Federation pays attention to development and support of junior fencing.

Our country has a great experience in conducting of the big fencing competitions such as FIE World Championship 2007 in St. Petersburg, Grand Prix "Moscow Sabre" and "St.Petersburg`s Foil", World Cup "Moscow Region Epee". And because of that I am sure that Junior European Championship will be conducted on the very high level.
I would like to wish all the participants of the European Junior Championship success on fencing piste, to spectators and guests of the tournament - good impressions from their staying in Russia!

Dear friends and athletes, referees and fans of this beautiful sport – fencing.

I am happy to welcome you on behalf of Moscow region, from all people who live here!

Moscow region, including Lobnya, has long and strong sports traditions. In particular «Sport Palace» where The European Junior Fencing Championship will take place in October. The Palace is already well known to the fencers who participated in The Cup of Russia, The World Cup. Also it is known for the athletes in gymnastics, basketball and volleyball.

Here not only famous masters were competing but also the young athletes. For example, participants of The International Junior Games of the CIS and Baltic States, The European Junior Basketball League Games.

That is why Moscow region was choosen not at random. It has always been the forge of the best athletes who have made a significant contribution to the development of fencing in Russia. Among them – А.Beketov, A. Shuvalov, A. Glazunov, O. Skorobogatov, A. Selin, A. Avdeev, R. Gadiev, V. Pozdnyakov, A. Stukalin, D. Aybushev, E. Nechaev, E. Fedorkina , S. Kormilitzyna, М.Zhukova, E. Yusheva, O. Velichko.

The European Junior Fencing Championship - is not only exciting fights but the new meetings, new friends, new victories and new names. It is also an opportunity to acquire invaluable experience of performing in international tournaments, improve skills, strengthen the friendship between young athletes from different countries.

I wish all participants in the forthcoming championship strength of spirit, health, beautiful and fair fights, sports luck!

Dear Friends! Dear Guests!

Welcome to Lobnya! On behalf of the Moscow Region Fencing Federation and the people of our hospitable city, I would like to welcome the best young fencers in Europe!
Again, on the arena of the Sport Palace will reign laconic epee, rollicking sabre, expressive foil. Fans will witness a bright, gracious and memorable festival.

I wish the athletes perseverance, uncompromising fight, worthy victories. Let the tournament will give us all the joy of communication, an unforgettable celebration of beauty, youth, friendship!
